Well, provided you have a full camera/light and sound crew at your disposal, and at least two - but probably 3 - camera operators filming from several angles when you are doing your home videoes, than it probably was. I would say it more had a feel of something losely planned. Still, that would have been ok, if it hadn`t been for the editing. Cause this was neither nor. For those who looked forward to the orgy, this clip probably had way too much talking and non-hardcore action. (Be honest, how many of you jumped forward a couple of minutes?). And for those of us who think it is a real threat just viewing these fantastic adonises uncloth and unhibited, the shifts were far too quick and crude. We only got a few blink and you miss it frames of the so called fashion show. The clip had probably been a lot better if plenty more of it had been left in -maybe even so much that there could have been two scenes. One scene dealing with the fashion show or talent show, and one scene of the orgy. The latter BelAmi knows both how to film and to edit. It is the documentary part of this, that could have been done a lot better. Instead of, like in this clip, you present them with some tasks (beatboxing, break dance and storytelling) and film and include every second of it. You either go with the fashion show or the talent show - but you let them keep on with it longer, so afterwards you have plenty of clips to choose from, when you start to edit down towards the final version. Unless you have a very skilled and experienced editor, who see the end clip in their head while watching the raw material for the first time, it is adviceable not to cut too much in the begining, but first group the raw material into titled selection files. And if necessary copy the material that has affiliation to more than one selection file. Forinstance here it would be natural to have a selection file for each boy, one for headshots, one for naked butts, one for dicks, another for full naked body, one for each camera angle, one for fashion show etc. So a headshot of Adam Archuleta would need 3 copies: one for headshots, one for Adam Archuleta and one for that particular camera angle. Off course you dont make a copy of every single frame of the clip, just certain good frames from the elements of your raw footage you definately want to include in the story. When that is done you start on the raw material again. A skillfull and experienced editor would do his raw cut now - the map before the detailed work of selecting, cutting and putting together the frames that will tell the story in the clip. An inexperienced one can make more selection files, this time grouped by time - breaking the raw footage into smaller, more manageble scenes - that in the end, after they have been edited (hopefully) to perfection, will be joined together forming the full clip - or final cut, if you like. The people at BelAmi most likely know all of this allready, but some of the people reading this might not. If the editing is done right, you wont notice it - cause the film runs so smoothly your mind believes it is watching live events. So predicting what the audience would like to see in the next frame, is probably the most important task for someone editing porn? If they manage it, the editing will seem seemless and natural. In editing, the equivalent of Nirvana! :-)
